Our discussion today was something that has not really been addressed as much as it should have in the past. The topic of focus was the impact of accents of education. In particular, my guest Dr. Alex Baratta shed light on how accents can impact teachers training in the UK. Alex is lecturer in language, linguistics and communication at Manchester University. As we all know, different regions in the UK have different accents. But teachers are seldom allowed to embrace their local accents when teaching local students.
